We have a new opportunity for a Emissions Trading Officer to join our team, based in the South of England, working 37.5 hours per week.
The salary for this role will be £55,000 per year with participation in an annual bonus scheme, and a car allowance, in addition to our great range of benefits. This role will be based in Ardley, Oxfordshire, with an opportunity for hybrid working - this will be discussed further at interview.

About the role
As our Emissions Trading Officer (ETS Officer) you will be leading and sharing best environmental manager practices to enable the function to achieve best in class performance and reduce our greenhouse gas emissions.
You will help identify and control all risks and ensure that managers understand their responsibilities for managing the ETS requirements.
What will I be doing?
- Ensuring compliance with site ETS Voluntary Monitoring Plans and UK ETS permits
- Develop Viridor’s standard reporting template for submission of emissions data according to approved monitoring approach.
- Lead on producing Viridor’s internal procedures detailed in the approved monitoring plan/ETS permit.
- Lead Viridor’s ETS Quarterly Data Reporting Form submissions to DESNZ.
- Compile the data required in the ETS Quarterly Data Reporting Form submissions.
- Develop and maintain constructive relationships with relevant environmental regulators.
- Remain aware at all times of responsibilities for own and work colleagues, health, and safety
What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who has:
- detailed knowledge of the UK ETS regime (minimum of 5 years experience in an industry already in the UK ETS)
- Thorough understanding of Carbon Emission calculation methods
- Good analytical skills with a clear thought process and high level of accuracy
- Experience delivering ETS Compliance from an operational environment
- Experience in compliance improvement through implementation of robust management systems
