Finance Business Partner - East

We have a new opportunity for a Finance Business Partner to join our team,  working 37.5 hours per week.

 

The salary for this role is competitive with participation in an annual bonus scheme, and a car allowance, in addition to our great range of benefits. This role will be based in Ardley, Oxfordshire, with an opportunity for hybrid working - this will be discussed further at interview.

Are you a commercially minded finance professional who thrives on influencing business performance? Do you have the analytical skills and business acumen to drive strategic decision-making? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Business Partner to join our team!

 

In this role, you will work closely with Operations, Commercial teams, and Senior Management to provide financial insights that drive business growth and efficiency. You will ensure financial integrity, compliance, and robust financial controls while identifying risks and opportunities to enhance performance.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a strategic finance partner, ensuring business leaders understand financial performance and key drivers.
  • Prepare and present monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts, KPIs, and investment appraisals.
  • Provide detailed cost analysis for key operational expenses, including maintenance, disposal, and consumables.
  • Monitor cash flow, CAPEX, and Adjusted EBITDA, offering insights to improve financial outcomes.
  • Ensure adherence to financial policies and accounting standards, liaising with auditors as required.
  • Support the business in identifying and mitigating financial risks while maximising opportunities.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the finance team.

 

What We’re Looking For:

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Strong management accounting and financial analysis expertise.
  • Experience in business partnering, working closely with both finance and non-finance teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to influence and engage stakeholders.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting systems.
  • Strong time management and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to identify financial trends, risks, and opportunities to support strategic decisions.

Desirable:

  • Experience in the Energy from Waste industry (preferred but not essential).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics, Power BI, Power Query, and SQL.
    Investment appraisal and post-project evaluation experience.

Qualifications:

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified (or equivalent).
  • Degree-qualified in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Full UK driving licence (role may require occasional travel).
