We have a new opportunity for a Lead Accountant to join our team, based in Avonmouth, working 37.5 hours per week.
The salary for this role will be £50,000 per year with participation in an annual bonus scheme, in addition to our great range of benefits. This role will be based in Avonmouth, with an opportunity for hybrid working - this will be discussed further at interview.

We are looking for an experienced Lead Accountant to take ownership of P&L actuals and balance sheets for designated business units, producing accurate monthly management accounts and supporting both statutory and internal reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts, journals, accruals and prepayments.
- Produce variance analysis and financial reports.
- Support year-end close, audits, and statutory accounts.
- Manage Fixed Asset & Lease Accounting for relevant cost centres.
- Work with Finance Business Partners and AP teams to improve processes.
- Ensure strong financial controls and compliance with reporting requirements (e.g., VAT, ONS surveys).
- Provide ad hoc analysis and support to Senior Accountants.
About You
Essential:
- Strong financial and analytical experience, with management accounting knowledge.
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence handling large data sets.
- Highly organised, accurate and able to work to tight deadlines.
- Proactive, process-driven and able to build strong stakeholder relationships.
Desirable:
- Experience in the energy/waste sector.
- Dynamics 365 experience.
