Maintenance Technician

We have an opportunity in Bargeddie for a Maintenance Technician to join our team, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Thursday nights.

 

The salary for this role will be £50,685 per year, inclusive of  shift allowance and participation in an annual bonus scheme, in addition to our great range of benefits.

We are looking for a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician (Mechanical) to join our team. You’ll be responsible for delivering planned maintenance (PM), responding to reactive and corrective maintenance tasks, and supporting improvement projects to enhance plant reliability and reduce costs.

This role also provides cover for the Operations Team Leader and includes operating the RWT SCADA system.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver planned maintenance in line with the site schedule.
  • Plan and complete corrective/reactive maintenance tasks to minimise downtime.
  • Support plant improvements and equipment upgrades.
  • Perform dynamic risk assessments and follow safe working practices.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and update the CMMS system.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Carry out daily checks and report any defects or issues.
  • Support operational and engineering teams to meet production demands.
  • Occasional travel to support other sites.

 

About You

Essential:

  • Knowledge of proactive maintenance and condition monitoring.
  • Familiarity with Health & Safety regulations and safe systems of work.
  • Strong mechanical diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
  • SCADA experience in a production environment.
  • Computer literate; able to use Microsoft Office and CMMS.
  • HNC, City & Guilds, or equivalent in a relevant mechanical discipline.
  • IOSH certification and a valid UK Driving Licence.

Desirable:

  • Experience in recycling or similar process environments.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and root cause analysis.
  • Multi-skilled with electrical knowledge (PLC, 3-phase systems).
