Viridor is at the forefront of waste management and resource recovery in the UK, operating the largest network of Energy Recovery Facilities (ERFs). We play a crucial role in supporting the UK's climate goals by diverting waste from landfills and transforming it into valuable energy resources. 

We have an opportunity in Trident Park, Cardiff for an Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Engineer to join our team working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

 

    The salary for this role will be £60,000 - £65,000 per year, and participation in an annual bonus scheme, in addition to our great range of benefits.

The Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer is responsible for all electrical, controls and instrumentation engineering and maintenance with some aspects of mechanical engineering at the Energy from Waste Plant, in co-operation with the Mechanical and the Central Engineering Team.  The EC&I Engineer will ensure optimal long-term availability of the plant, to preserve the value of the assets and to comply with environmental health and safety requirements. Ensuring financial targets are met within the EC&I department. The EC&I Engineer is responsible for efficient planning and execution of maintenance activities associated with the ERF plant, including the EC&I workshops management. 

 

What we are looking for;

  • Knowledge of repair methods of EC&I machinery and equipment.  
  • Understanding of safe systems of work i.e., plant isolations and safety systems. 
  • Knowledge of Preventative Maintenance Systems. 
  • Knowledge of Distributed Control Systems upkeep and maintenance (Valmet, Siemens etc.) 
  • Experience of health, safety and environment legislation relevant to process or power industry. 
  • Experience in working with a Computerised Maintenance Management System. 
  • Experience in supervise teams and contractors to deliver agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s). 
  • Possess appropriate Engineering qualifications such as ONC / HNC (or equivalent). 
  • Appropriate skills and experience to be to able to hold a position of Senior Authorised Person (SAP) and qualified to work on both LV and HV electrical systems.
