Viridor is at the forefront of waste management and resource recovery in the UK, operating the largest network of Energy Recovery Facilities (ERFs). We play a crucial role in supporting the UK's climate goals by diverting waste from landfills and transforming it into valuable energy resources. 

 

We have an opportunity in South Region for a Project Engineer on a 3 Year FTC to join our team working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, weekends during outage. 

 

     The salary for this role will be circa £75,000 per year plus car allowance and participation in an annual bonus scheme, in addition to our great range of benefits.

We are looking for a Project Engineer to support and deliver engineering changes that increase Maximum Continuous Rating (MCR) across Energy Recovery Facilities.

 

You will work with OEMs, contractors, site teams, and central engineering to develop technical solutions, integrate projects into outages, manage contractor performance, and ensure all changes meet safety, quality, and compliance standards. The role includes site visits, HAZOP reviews, producing Management of Change documentation, and attending acceptance tests (including overseas).

 

What You’ll Need

  • Strong engineering and maintenance knowledge in process or power industries
  • Understanding of pressure parts legislation and project management practices
  • Excellent communication, organisation, problem‑solving and negotiation skills
  • Experience managing contractors and delivering complex engineering projects
  • HNC (or equivalent), Project Management qualification, IOSH (or equivalent)
  • Full, clean driving licence

 

Desirable: CMMS knowledge, ISO 55001 awareness, managerial qualification (ILM or equivalent).
