MBT Recycling Operative

Viridor is at the forefront of waste management and resource recovery in the UK, operating the largest network of Energy Recovery Facilities (ERFs). We play a crucial role in supporting the UK's climate goals by diverting waste from landfills and transforming it into valuable energy resources. 

 

We have an opportunity in our Glasgow Recycling & Renewable Energy Centre for an MBT Recycling Operative to join our team working 40 hours per week to include nights. 

 

     The salary for this role will be £23,644.00 per year, and participation in an annual bonus scheme, in addition to our great range of benefits.

As an MBT Recycling Operative, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Sort and Separate: Follow instructions from the Shift MBT Supervisor to sort and separate different material types, ensuring materials are properly classified for recycling.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all Company Health and Safety procedures, including lock off, tag off, try out (LOTOTO), traffic management systems (TMS), and other safety protocols.
  • Reporting: Report any defects that could impact Health, Safety, Environment, or production to your line manager promptly.
  • Problem-solving: Address blockages or issues affecting throughput within the MRF and MBT areas efficiently and safely, following guidance from your line manager.
  • Site Procedures: Understand and follow all site procedures diligently, challenging any non-conformance and reporting them to your line manager proactively.
  • Housekeeping: Perform routine process cleaning and housekeeping tasks throughout your shift to maintain a hygienic and safe working environment, optimizing process performance.
  • Quality Compliance: Undertake picking cabin duties to ensure recyclate quality compliance is maximized.
  • Equipment Handling: Operate equipment and tools correctly and safely, including hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment, as required for your tasks.
  • Training: Undertake provided training to enhance safety awareness and improve your capability compliance.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with fellow operatives to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency within the MRF operation.
