Multiskilled Recycling Operative

Viridor is at the forefront of waste management and resource recovery in the UK, operating the largest network of Energy Recovery Facilities (ERFs). We play a crucial role in supporting the UK's climate goals by diverting waste from landfills and transforming it into valuable energy resources. 

 

We have an opportunity in Glasgow for a Multiskilled Recycling Operative to join our team working 40 hours per week, Monday to Sunday shift pattern, to include nights. 

  

     The salary for this role will be £33,640 per year, inclusive of shift allowance and participation in an annual bonus scheme, in addition to our great range of benefits.

Key Duties

  • Operate site equipment including weighbridge, forklift, shovel, RDF crane, and MRF SCADA (trained on at least 3)
  • Support recycling operations: picking, cleaning, litter picking, and clearing blockages
  • Complete daily checks, defect reports, production logs, and weighbridge records
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety, and housekeeping
  • Follow site procedures, traffic management systems, and company policies
  • Work as part of a team to achieve safe and efficient production

 

Health & Safety

  • Take full responsibility for working safely and preventing harm
  • Challenge and report unsafe practices or non-conformance

 

 

Skills & Experience

 

Essential

  • Health & Safety awareness
  • Experience in a production or operational environment
  • Forklift truck operator with valid FLT and/or shovel licence
  • Good communication, attention to detail, and basic IT skills

 

Desirable

  • Experience in recycling or waste management
  • Basic maintenance skills

 

The role requires flexibility, teamwork, and a proactive approach. Other reasonable duties may be required in line with operational needs.
