Viridor is at the forefront of waste management and resource recovery in the UK, operating the largest network of Energy Recovery Facilities (ERFs). We play a crucial role in supporting the UK's climate goals by diverting waste from landfills and transforming it into valuable energy resources.
We have an opportunity in Glasgow for a Planning Engineer to join our team working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
The salary for this role will be £45,408 per year and participation in an annual bonus scheme, in addition to our great range of benefits.

The Planning Engineer will be responsible for planning and scheduling of all maintenance and project activities at the GRREC ERF Plant, and provide support to the Engineering and Operations team as necessary.
Acting as a connection between the Engineering and Operations departments during the daily meetings, the Planning Engineer will update and issue daily Plans of maintenance and scheduled maintenance.
They will need to use all available planning tools and the CMMS to ensure the correct resources are available in a safe and efficient working environment.
This role is a key role and shall ensure that the Work Management Procedure is adhered to by all departments. This includes monitoring and presenting KPI data from the CMMS.
What we are looking for:
- Experience of CMMS and project / planning tools such as MS Project/ Primavera P6
- An understanding of maintenance planning and scheduling, spare materials management, asset management tools and techniques
- They should have experience in a planning or scheduling role in a process industry or power plant.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely at all levels
- Able to work to tight time schedules
- Possess the appropriate Engineering / Technicial qualifications such as HNC / HND (or equivalent)
