Maintenance technician

Viridor is at the forefront of waste management and resource recovery in the UK, operating the largest network of Energy Recovery Facilities (ERFs). We play a crucial role in supporting the UK's climate goals by diverting waste from landfills and transforming it into valuable energy resources. 

 

We have an opportunity in Runcorn for a Maintenance Technician to join our team working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday on a split shift of earlies and lates. 

 

     The salary for this role will be £43,280.00 per year, plus shift allowance and participation in an annual bonus scheme, in addition to our great range of benefits.

Carry out duties of a Reactive Maintenance Technicians as detailed by the RMT Co-ordinator.  To provide support to the Operations team on site, ensuring all maintenance activities are performed within the correct methods established through company Health and safety guidance, in line with risk assessments and safe operating procedures.

 

What are we looking for?

 

  • Exposure to having carried out planned maintenance activities
  • Demonstrate a track record of  carrying out first line management requirements in line with company procedures and policy, such as H & S awareness, PPC and PPE issue.
  • Assist with training of existing and new team members of the Operations Maintenance Team.  In addition demonstrate the ability to effectively and efficiently train any agency workers employed by the department.
  • Experience of working in a process or power plant
  • Mechanical maintenance experience
  • Previous supervisory roles
  • Ability to work within a high pressure production environment
  • Good communication and writing skills
